Actor, Director, Translator

Carlotta Brentan is a New York-based theater artist, specializing in fostering original play development as an actor, translator and producer. Acting highlights include originating roles in the world premieres of Paolo Bignami’s The Journey I Never Made (Kairos Italy Theater – Cherry Lane Theater), Erik Ehn’s Clover at La MaMa ETC (dir. Glory Kadigan), and Cyndy A. Marion’s You Are Perfect (WorkShop Theater). Carlotta also acts on camera and can frequently be found behind the mic, where she voices audiobooks, commercials & educational projects in English and Italian. Carlotta has been part of KIT – Kairos Italy Theater, New York’s foremost Italian theater company, since 2011. Aside from regularly acting with the company, she is the Executive Producer of KIT’s In Scena! Italian Theater Festival, the first Italian festival to take place in all five boroughs of New York City since 2013. Carlotta is also a published and produced translator, with numerous full-length plays to her name. A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Academy Company, Carlotta subsequently trained in the Meisner technique for two years with Andrea Dantas.
